Andersen Windows and Cheeriodicals Utilize Team Building

A team of employees from Andersen Windows, along with Cheeriodicals, delivered cheer in the form of 150 big green boxes to patients at the Florida Hospital for Children during a “Cheeriodicals Day” event held on April 28, 2017. Cheeriodicals are “big green boxes of cheer” made up, in this case, of age-appropriate magazines and activity books, room decorations, puzzles, stickers and games for the children to enjoy.

During the AIA Conference on Architecture held in Orlando, the Andersen Team collaborated with architects attending the Andersen booth to compile the gift boxes. To help educate attendees Andersen, Cheeriodicals, and Florida Hospital kicked the day off speaking at Hanley Wood’s Architect LIVE event, highlighting the unique collaboration and opportunity to spread cheer. “The atmosphere in the booth was really energizing as everyone worked together to create something bigger than themselves,” said Gary Massenzio, Architect Sales Rep. “It was a lot of fun and very rewarding.”

“We’re so excited to deliver smiles to the Florida Hospital for Children today,” said Ben DeLoach, Director of Business Development and Events of Cheeriodicals. “This is the third time we’ve worked with Andersen this year to assemble Big Green Boxes of Cheer to deliver to hospitalized children and their families. The experience has been life-changing.”

“It has been such an amazing day for the children and families at our hospital today,” said Lisa Robertson, Patient and Family Experience Manager at Florida Hospital for Children. “We were so pleased to have the Andersen team and architects visit today to spread cheer to the children and families in our hospital.”

After a special delivery to the hospital, free of charge, by Two Men and a Truck, Orlando, Cheeriodicals, employees from Andersen Windows, AIA, as well as architects from across the US began handing out the big green boxes of cheer to patient families at the hospital. The boxes were tailored to boys or girls and specific age groups and are sure to bring joy to the children.

“Andersen is deeply engaged in serving our community, including the community of Orlando. Today’s event was special for all involved and we are so proud to be a part of it,” said Sandi Andrews, Sales Director at Andersen Windows.

Cheeriodicals Day is catching on across the country. Cheeriodicals has worked with children’s hospitals in dozens of markets nationwide including: Houston, Birmingham, Cincinnati, Chicago, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Columbus, New York and Omaha on Cheeriodicals Days and has plans to continue working with corporate sponsors to bring cheer to children’s hospitals throughout the country.
